NPDF
NPDF is a high resolution powder diffractometer located at flighpath 1 at the Lujan Neutron Scattering Center on Los Alamos National Laboratory. The instrument is dedicated to total scattering measurements but can also be used for high resolution crystallographic studies. The instrument has detector banks at 45, 90, 119 and 148 degrees and can access a Q range from 0.8 to 50 A-1. NPDF is controlled by a user friendly web interface and the data are automatically reduced to S(Q) and G(r). For more information contact the instrument scientist.

HIPD
HIPD is a high intensity powder diffractometer located on flighpath 3 at the Lujan Neutron Scattering Center at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The instrument is used for crystallographic studies and more recently it has been extened to total scattering measurements. The instrument has detector banks at 14, 40, 90 and 153 degrees and can access a Q range from 0.2 to 50 A-1. HIPD is controlled by the same user friendly interface as NPDF. We are currently seeking funding for an upgrade of this instrument to HIPDF. For more information contact the instrument scientist.

X-ray instruments
11ID-B
Nearly all our X-ray PDF measurements were carried out on 11ID-B, located in sector 11 at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory. The instrument uses an area detector allowing PDFs to be collected in minutes or even seconds. Approved users of NPDF can now access 11ID-B for complementary x-ray measurements through a Partner User Proposal between the two beamlines.
