  • Antifreeze and Aerosol Cans—Now Universal Wastes!
    (5/17/16)—On April 15, 2016, the hazardous waste rules adopted two new universal wastes, antifreeze and aerosol cans. To learn more on the requirements for these Universal Wastes see R315-273 Utah Administrative Code.
  • New Drum-Top Lamp Crushers Registration Requirements
    (5/17/16)—On April 15, 2016, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control adopted new rules regarding crushing lamps using a drum-top crusher. To apply to operate a Drum-Top Lamp Crusher General Forms.
  • Hazardous Secondary Materials Recycling/Reclamation Summary
    (5/17/16)—On April 15, 2016, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control adopted the EPA’s January 2015 Definition of Solid Waste Rule. The EPA has provided requirements for notification, defining legitimate recycling, becoming a verified recycler, obtaining a variance request, and recycler/reclamation facility requirements. To apply to become a verified recycler or Intermediate Facility submit an application form Verified Recycler/Intermediate Facility. For Generators of Hazardous Secondary Materials, please submit an updated EPA Form 8700-12 with Addendum 1 (pages 53-58).
  • Hazardous Waste Rules Formatting Update
    (5/17/16)—On April 15, 2016, the Hazardous Waste Rules were reformatted similar to the EPA formatting. DAS R315.
  • 2016 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events
    (03/09/16)—Certain counties have collection events where residents can drop off household hazardous waste. See the recycling information for Utah to find out if your county is having an event in 2016.
