ThereĀ are currently 77 Volunteers in Liberia working in education. During their service in Liberia, Volunteers learn to speak the local languages, including: Liberian English and basic greetings in Lorma, Krahn, Kru, Grebo, Bassa, Kpelle, Mano/Gio, Gola, Vai or Mano. More than 4,035 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in Liberia since the program was established in 1962.
