    Working hard for Oregonians

    The Pharmacy Services program provides prescription services to Oregonians and works to lower the cost of prescription drugs. Pharmacy services uses a statewide Preferred Drug List that is evidence-based, used by the Oregon Health Plan and available to all Oregonians.

    Pharmacy Services provides prescription drug coverage to clients in programs such as CAREAssist and OHP (Medicaid). The program works to reduce the price of medications, which is one of the essential steps in containing the rising costs of health care. Through the Oregon Prescription Drug Program, the Oregon Health Authority is able to save money for consumers, employers and the state on medications.

Oregon Health Plan Pharmacy Services

OHP provides a drug benefit to all Medicaid-eligible clients. It uses a Preferred Drug List, created and maintained by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee; establishes reimbursement rates paid to pharmacies; and negotiates discounts with drug manufacturers.

CAREAssist - Ryan White ADAP Program

The CAREAssist program (Oregon's AIDS Drug Assistance Program) helps people living with HIV or AIDS pay for medical expenses. The mission: Improve the health of HIV-positive Oregonians by paying for insurance premiums and prescription/medical services co-payments.

Oregon Prescription Drug Program

OPDP combines the purchasing power of the state agencies in Oregon and Washington to gain reduced drug prices for all Oregonians. Members of the Oregon Educators Benefit Board, SAIF Corp. and OHSU health plans receive their drug benefits through the program. All other Oregon residents may join and receive reduced-cost drugs.

Oregon Prescription Drug Monitoring Program

This program helps health care practitioners and pharmacists deliver improved care to patients with better management of their prescriptions. The key: Providers working with patients to help them understand what medications are best for their treatment.
