WHAT ABOUT UTAH'S NEW TELEPHONE AREA CODES?

Utah is running out of useable telephone number prefixes in the region served by the 801 area code.  The new codes will cover essentially the following:

  • 801: Salt Lake County
  • 385: Utah, Davis, Weber and Morgan Counties
  • 435: All other Counties in the state

The projected date now for the changes is the first quarter of 2007, but this is only tentative. This projected date may change. To see a map of the tentative changes as shown on the Qwest web site click here.
