It was unfair that the federal government was clawing back bonuses it had mistakenly given to California’s Army National Guard members who took them in good faith. So I am glad to see the Department of Defense is now suspending  their efforts requiring soldiers and their families to repay the bonuses, which would have been a terrible burden on those who have devoted their lives to protecting our country.

It was my privilege to present a commendation to the management team of Planned Parenthood Nor Cal and their parent organization on the occasion of their 100th anniversary.  The Legislative resolution, co-authored by Senators Loni Hancock and Lois Wolk and Assembly members Catharine Baker, Susan Bonilla, Bill Dodd, and Tony Thurmond, congratulates them for their wide-ranging healthcare services.
