Treasury serves as the central state agency, providing statewide financial services for agencies and institutions of the Commonwealth. Treasury has six service area divisions: General Management, Debt Management, Risk Management, Operations,Cash Management and Investments and Unclaimed Property. The State Treasurer reports directly to the Secretary of Finance, which is a cabinet position reporting directly to the Governor. Treasury is responsible for the investment of state monies, issuance and management of the short and long-term financing needs of the Commonwealth, administration of the state’s unclaimed property and escheat laws, administration of insurance and risk management programs, management of the state’s banking network, development of cash management programs, and check issuance services.

The Unclaimed Property Program returns money, stocks, bonds, dividends, utility deposits, insurance proceeds, tangible property and more to Virginia residents. Whether you've moved, lost a check, or forgotten about a bank account, finding money is easy and free.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
On February 19, 2016, the Division of Unclaimed Property will begin upgrading to a new information management system to better serve you. Claims that are currently in process may experience a delay of up to 3 additional weeks in processing the final payment. We appreciate your patience during our conversion.

For the fastest service, you are encouraged to use our www.vaMoneySearch.org website and search for property using the Click and Claim searchable database. If you are unable to access the internet, you may request an Inquiry Form by calling 1-800-468-1088, choose option 1 and then option 2.

Arbitrage Rebate Calculation Services

The Department of the Treasury is pleased to announce that it has finalized its selection process for the new arbitrage rebate calculation services RFP (contract RFP CMI 15-004). Treasury posted the notice of award and has selected two contractors:

• Arbitrage Compliance Specialists, Inc.
• Bingham Arbitrage Rebate Services, Inc.
