Federal Skills Assessment Test

The Federal Skills Assessment Test (FEDSAT) is an online skills assessment tool which assesses compliance with Accelerate FM defined competency areas on your PC or Mobile devices. You can use the FEDSAT to demonstrate understanding of the 80 high-priority performance areas and link to related training from a wide variety of sources. Be sure to watch the two minute FEDSAT introduction video embedded below and also available from the FEDSAT home page to learn everything you need to know about the FEDSAT.

Accelerate FM, New Guidance Wizard

Accelerate FM has rolled out a new guidance interface for new and existing users. The new AFM user guidance wizard makes it easy to understand how to get started with AFM and what steps need to be taken to begin or continue to pursue the training you need to fill gaps. The new guidance wizard also makes it easy to know when and how to access the Federal Skills Assessment Test (FEDSAT) to meet high priority performance gaps.

2015 FBPTA Core Competencies and Recommended Curriculum

To develop the 2015 Update, the Facilities Management Institute (FMI) engaged representatives of federal agencies, cross-governmental organizations including the Federal Real Property Council and the National Institute of Building Sciences, and a number of industry-based credentialing organizations.  The focus of this Update was to expand on the number and breadth of coverage of training and other qualifications related to building operations and energy management.   In the process of doing so, FMI also identified opportunities to simplify the FBPTA competency model and address new competencies related to cybersecurity and data acquisition and validation for the Federal Real Property Profile (FRPP). New and Updated Courses Open for Public Comment

Please see files for scoring, use the Public Forum "FBPTA Qualifications - Public Comment,"  created for each training provider to comment on scoring.

We have Upgraded and Migrated! Welcome to Accelerate FM.

 Accelerate FM

Accelerate FM will help you understand the skills required to manage your buildings to a higher level, find the training resources to acquire those skills and periodically assess and refine your professional development priorities. GSA developed the tool to help employees impacted by the Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act (FBPTA) find and justify requests for training that meet the requirements of that Act. However, anyone involved in facilities management, energy management, building operations, or other related fields will find this resource useful. Download User Guide and PowerPoint Training Slides here.
