Provide factual data and information regarding oil and gas operations in the State to the public, interested parties, oil and gas operators, the news media, and other government agencies through information, communication, and education activities and enhance the availability of oil and gas data and information through digital products and web-related media.

• Respond to oil- and gas-related information requests to the public, interested parties, oil and gas operators, the news media, and other government agencies on a timely basis.
• Communicate the positive economic impact and importance of the oil and gas industry to the public through presentations, lectures, and active participation in local, state, and national meetings and in educational activities.
• Publish reports on the oil and gas industry in Alabama as appropriate through the use of conventional publication methods, as well as digital products and web-related media.
• Enhance the utility of oil and gas data on the GSA/OGB web site by providing a GIS component.
