Telecom Regulations and Internet Governance Forum for Afghan and Pakistani Officials

CLDP will hold a telecom regulations training in Washington, DC on December 1-2 and then trainings at the UN Internet Governance Forum in Guadalajara, Mexico on December 5-9 for 10 Afghans and 4 Pakistanis from the public and private telecom sectors. The purpose of the Washington, DC two-day training is to provide an overview of how the U.S. government regulates telecommunications, how the Mexican telecom sector was deregulated and how U.S. companies have gained access to the Mexican market. This will prepare the delegation to attend the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) which takes place from December 5-9, 2016 in Guadalajara, Mexico. CLDP will organize a training on day zero of the IGF and will close the conference with a conclusions session. The objective of the Washington, DC and IGF is for Afghan and Pakistan telecom experts to learn about policy and best practices from their ICT counterparts on an international level as well as from U.S. regulators, companies and non-profits.
