Overview

The High-Performance Computing Group manages and operates the NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS). NCCS provides state-of-the-art supercomputing and data services for weather and climate research, serving a user community based at NASA centers and laboratories and universities across the country and internationally.

NCCS' advanced data mass-storage system, data distribution technologies, and high-speed networks allow researchers to access the enormous volume of data generated by weather and climate models running on the facility's supercomputers. NCCS also makes available data analysis and visualization tools needed to interpret modeling data.

NCCS collaborates with high-performance computing experts in industry, universities, and other government agencies to continually enhance its facilities, resources, and services to meet users' ever-escalating computing needs.
