The DPM shows areas of tsunami inundation in Sendai, Japan. A color map rendering of horizontal ground deformation rendered as a GIS product for Tohoku-Oki, Japan earthquake

The Damage Proxy Map (DPM) indicates centimeter scale change due to subsidence, inundation, or structure collapse allowing early assessment of the scale of damage. [1] Re-zoning map indicating where repair and rebuilding will be allowed.  This map is the product of many man-hours of effort to assess structures and the land that they were built on. [2]

GPS coseismic displacements (colormap on land) and estimated area of fault slip (yellow contour off shore). The red star shows the epicentral location of the earthquake identified by seismic data. The question mark identifies the region where a subsequent large earthquake could occur.
