    Three U.S. Supreme Court Justices visit the consulate and meet with members of the legal community in Barcelona

    U.S. Supreme Court Justices), who came to Barcelona to participate in a conference organized by the University of New York, agreed to participate in a roundtable discussion on judicial independence organized by the consulate with representatives of the legal community in Barcelona including judges, prosecutors, academics, and attorneys.

    Institute of Play Ross Flatt discusses game-like learning among the education community in Barcelona

    The consulate general invited Ross Flatt, Lead Learning Designer at the Institute of Play in New York, and an expert in introducing games and play as educational tools, to participate in a series of events in Barcelona coinciding with his participation in the 2nd STEAMConf Conference on Education held in Barcelona on April 14-16. Following the conference, the consulate organized, in collaboration with the Teacher Training Program at Ramon Llull University, a workshop on game-like learning for 25 school teachers, teacher trainers, and students, as well as a round-table discussion at the consulate which gathered over 20 teachers, educators and education officials. At his last speaking engagement, organized in collaboration with the Jaume Bofill Foundation as part of their Debates in Education series, Ross reviewed the Institute of Play’s seven principles of game-like learning.

    The Consulate General Sponsors the Americana Film Fest one more year

    The Consulate General was the main sponsor of the Americana Independent Film Festival of Barcelona which took place on March 3-6. This film festival features U.S. independent films that represent the best of independent film making in the United States. The consul general, Marcos Mandojana, delivered remarks at the opening before an enthusiastic audience.

    Radio Show “El Món a RAC1” broadcast live from the Consulate

    Coinciding with the kickoff of the primary elections in the U.S., the radio show “El Món a RAC1” broadcasted live for four hours from the Consulate General in Barcelona on February 2. It was the first time that the Consulate General opened its doors to a live radio show. During the show, its anchorman and director, Jordi Basté, interviewed the consul general, Marcos Mandojana.
