"Balancing Our Lives through Traditional Practices & Knowledge"
Creating a space focusing on the education of Soboba Tribal History & Culture

Vision
Cultural and traditional knowledge, values, and philosophies...

The Soboba Cultural Center and Research Library recognizes and acknowledges our tribes cultural heritage as having Luiseño ancestry. We believe that it is necessary to know the cultural traditions and histories of the Soboba people in order keep a balanced life. The Soboba Cultural Center and Research Library strives to be a higher education learning facility which creates a space that educates on the understanding of colonization of North American and the impacts that it has had on the breakdown of our Luiseño cultural societies and social structures.

Mission

  • It is our mission to increase the understanding, appreciation, contribution and role of the Luiseño people, original inhabitants who have lived and occupied portions of what is now known as Southern California in these United States from time immemorial up to the creation and establishment of the Soboba Indian Reservation and the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians.
  • The Cultural Center and Research Library will be a higher education learning facility teaching with an educational curriculum and programs created with the inclusion of cultural traditions, histories, and philosophies of the Sovereign Nation of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians.
  • The Soboba Cultural Center and Research Library will act as a repository for the tribe's cultural heritage through the preservation of oral histories, archival materials and objects of cultural, historical and artistic significance to the people of Soboba.
