The PA Free Quitline is a free, evidence-based tobacco
cessation service available to all Pennsylvanians.
Annually, the PA Free Quitline provides services to over 13,000 Pennsylvanians.
Participants are self-referred by calling
1-800-QUIT-NOW. Providers refer by Fax to Quit or electronic referral
methods.
Resources and Information:
Tobacco cessation services include individual or group tobacco cessation classes/sessions and nicotine replacement therapy, if available. If you're a tobacco user or know a tobacco user (family member, friend, co-worker, etc.), in-person and over-the-phone help is available.
PA Free Quitline services include:
Up to five quit coach calls
Two or more weeks of nicotine replacement
therapy, if available
Unlimited, inbound calls for additional support
during times of high risk for using tobacco
Spanish quitline services are available by dialing 1-855-DEJELO-YA
Follow-up calls are conducted at three, six and 12-month periods to establish quit rates.
What to expect from the PA Free Quitline:
During first contact, you will be asked several
intake questions to understand more about you in order to provide you with
personalized assistance
You will be transferred to a quit coach during
your first contact, if you and a coach are available
At the completion of each quit coach call, you
and the quit coach will schedule the next quit coach call that best fits your availability
Nicotine replacement therapy, if available, will
be shipped directly to your address after completion of the first quit coach
call
You may be contacted after you have completed
the PA Free Quitline services to help us provide better services to all quitline callers.
Healthcare providers - refer your patients!
Fax to Quit
The Fax To Quit Program allows healthcare and non-healthcare professionals to refer tobacco-using individuals to PA Free Quitline services for expert, evidence-based and confidential coaching to become tobacco-free.
Pre-Approved TobaccoCessation Registry - Established in 2002, the Pennsylvania's DOH Pre-approved Tobacco Cessation Registry (Registry) is a resource and referral system at state, regional and local levels.
PA QuitLogix - Check out the PA Free Quitline online! Individuals may register for online access only or include telephone cessation services through the PA Free Quitline.
Quitline print materials- Rack cards, post cards and business size cards available for patient waiting rooms or at discharge/end of appointment.
