Voter Questions & Answers ?
Why has someone in this household received this postcard?
The Secretary of the State has determined that you or someone in your household is likely an eligible voter but may be unregistered. This mailing is to inform you of how to become a registered voter if you so choose. To be a registered voter you must be a citizen, be a resident of a Connecticut town, be at least 17 years old (must turn 18 on or before Election Day), and have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a disenfranchising felony.
I thought I was already registered to vote.
Perhaps you have received this postcard in error. If you are already a registered voter then your status has not been changed. To view your own registration record click here
How did you know that I was not registered?
The Secretary of the State participates in a national project with 21 member states to improve the accuracy of the voter rolls by comparing multiple sources of information with the current list of registered voters. This allows us to contact unregistered, but likely eligible voters, like you. It also allows us to remove with greater certainty voters who no longer reside in Connecticut but failed to inform us that they have relocated. Private information, such as your social security number, remains confidential.
My voter registration record is out of date.
You may update your registration using the online voter registration system. You may, for example change your name, address, or party affiliation. You may also update your status using a mail in card or by visiting your registrar of voter's office or town clerk.
