    Earth Day launching Ceremony

    The Ambassador of the United States to Guinea Dennis Hankins presided over the celebration of the World Earth Day on April 21 along with the representatives of the Ministry of Health, the USAID’s NGO HC3 and the workers of the hospital of Matam located in the suburb of Conakry.

    On April 13, 2016, Ambassador Hankins presented medical equipment to the Armed Forces of Guinea at a ceremony at camp Samory Toure, attended by the Minister of Defense Mohamed Diane.

    Ambassador comments on Guinean Government response

    Following the recent release of disturbing footage of law enforcement officers using force while interrogating a crime suspect, the Government of Guinea responded quickly. Steps have been against those directly responsible and an investigation was launched. Ambassador Hankins commented: “the public images of violence have prompted positive steps. I applaud the Government’s actions to investigate the incident and take appropriate measures to ensure justice for all citizens.”
