    Women in Politics

    On March 30, 2016 Ambassador Perry Holloway hosted a reception to honor the achievements of women in politics in Guyana and throughout the world. The event brought together newly elected female councilors along with female Members of Parliament, other elected officials, NGOs working on women’s issues, and prominent members of the private and public sector. First Lady of Guyana and U.S. Department of State Alumna, Her Excellency Sandra Granger was also in attendance.

    International Visitor Leadership Program

    Following their return from a 2-week International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) exchange to the United States on Combating Corruption, Judy Stuart and Neil Marks paid a visit to Ambassador Perry Holloway. Through in-depth discussions, workshops, and site visits, Mrs. Stuart and Mr. Marks along with their Caribbean counterparts had the opportunity to explore the vital role of public/private partnerships and media in supporting good governance and discouraging corruption.

    Drug Enforcement Administration Office Opens

    On February 10, 2016 the Drug Enforcement Administration Office in Guyana was officially declared opened by Ambassador Perry Holloway, Vice President and Honorable Minister of Public Security Khemraj Ramjattan, and DEA Regional Director Matthew Donahue. The DEA team looks forward to working with law enforcement officials, the judiciary, and government representatives to make a positive difference in the battle to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking in Guyana and the region.

    Valentine's Day Brunch for Charity

    On February 12, 2016 Mrs. Rosaura Holloway - wife of Ambassador Perry Holloway, hosted a Valentine’s Day brunch in aid of Help and Shelter, a non-governmental organization that provides shelter for victims of domestic abuse. Mrs. Holloway was joined by Mrs. Sita Nagamootoo - wife of Honorable Prime Minister of Guyana Moses Nagamootoo, Ms. Denise Dias - Director of Help and Shelter, members of the U.S. Embassy, the U.S. business community and the Diplomatic Corps.

    National Library Visit

    Ambassador Perry Holloway recently visited the National Library of Guyana. He was given a tour of the facility from Chief Librarian Emiley King and took a visit to the 'America Spot' which is home to a selection of American university books. Following the closure of the John F. Kennedy Library in Georgetown, the collection of books was donated to the National Library.
