Hydeia Visits Lesotho
American HIV/AIDS activist Hydeia Broadbent was in Lesotho in September. During her visit, Ms. Broadbent met with a wide variety of Basotho groups and individuals that included HIV/AIDS activists, legal advocates, Ministry of Health representatives, and young people.

Celebrating U.S./Lesotho Partnership
As part of celebrating Lesotho’s 50 years of independence and 50 years of partnership with the U.S., we hosted award-winning American singer Maya Azucena. She conducted master classes, workshops and performed in multiple shows with many Basotho artists such as Jazz legend Bhudaza Mapefane and Serumula Choir.

U.S. Embassy Maseru hosted the annual Independence Day reception in Maseru. Many government ministers and officials, other leaders from parastals, NGOs, business and varied sectors graced the 240th celebration of U.S. independence.
