Racial Intelligence Training for Executive Leadership

This course, for law enforcement and corrections supervisors, increases the awareness in one's own emotions (EI), which heightens the situational awareness when engaging with others (SI), and creates a robust diversity and inclusion to deescalate whenever possible using Racial Intelligence (RI).

Verbal Judo: Train the Trainer

Verbal Judo is a communication program that teaches the skills necessary to remain centered and focused during any verbal circumstance. The techniques redirect behavior, diffuse difficult situations with proven tactics and strategies to generate voluntary compliance. This 5-day training course will certify participants as Verbal Judo Instructors to teach the basic 1 or 2 day Verbal Judo course to staff in their organization. Instructor certification is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.


Welcome to the North Carolina Justice Academy website.  The Academy's staff trains thousands of criminal justice personnel throughout the state. Numerous state and local agencies make use of the campus facilities, instructional services, and its professional staff for criminal justice training.

We have two campuses located in Salemburg and Edneyville, NC to better serve North Carolina Criminal Justice Agencies' training needs. Please refer to our maps for driving directions and the lower portion of the screen for contact information.  Once you arrive on campus, please use these campus maps to find your way around our campuses.
