Secretary Kerry's Meetings With Sultan Qaboos and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah
The following is attributable to State Department Spokesperson John Kirby: Secretary Kerry met today in Muscat with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said in Muscat, Oman. Secretary Kerry and the Sultan reaffirmed the enduring partnership between the United States and the Sultanate of Oman. The Secretary expressed the United States’ deep appreciation for the helpful role Oman played in securing the recent release of U.S. citizens held in Yemen.

Secretary Kerry to Visit Muscat
On November 14, the Secretary will travel to Muscat, Oman, where he will meet with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, and Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi to discuss Yemen and efforts to reach a peaceful settlement to the conflict there. The Secretary will then travel to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on November 15, to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed to discuss challenges facing the region.
