Welcome to Procurement The Princeton
Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is operated by Princeton
University under contract to the United States Department of Energy
(USDOE). PPPL
is the only USDOE laboratory fully dedicated to the research and development
of fusion as a safe and virtually inexhaustible energy alternative. PPPL is
an autonomous organization within the Princeton University structure. The
Director of PPPL reports to the University Dean for Research. PPPL regular
staff members are Princeton University employees, but the Laboratory
community includes a significant and dynamic mix of graduate students;
visiting faculty and staff from universities, DOE laboratories, and foreign
research organizations; subcontractor employees; and consultants. The
Procurement Division is part of the PPPL Business Operations
Office. PPPL Procurement is functionally independent from the Princeton University Purchasing Office, but
maintains a liaison with main campus. The PPPL purchasing system is reviewed
and approved by the USDOE in accordance with the provision of Prime Contract No.
DE-AC02-09CH11466. The PPPL
Procurement Division purchases the goods and services needed to operate the
Laboratory. Our staff has a diversity of
backgrounds and a wealth of experience in the purchasing field. We promote
excellence through continuous training and membership in professional groups
such as the National Contract Management Association
(NCMA) or the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).
We encourage our staff to seek and maintain professional certification
through these organizations.
