FirstNet in Vermont
FirstNet has the mission to ensure the building, deployment and operation of the first high-speed, nationwide wireless broadband network with spectrum dedicated to public safety. FirstNet, or the First Responder Network Authority, was created by the U.S. Congress in 2012 in accordance with recommendations from the 9/11 commission. To guide and prepare for FirstNet in this state, the Vermont Public Safety Broadband Commission was established through Executive Order in 2013.
