The research in the group of Professor Miquel Salmeron is centered on the nanometer scale chemical, electronic, and mechanical properties of surfaces and interfaces.

The group currently consists of 8 post docs, 1 graduate and undergraduate students and 0 visiting professors and students.

Congratulations to Christian, Baran, and Barbara!
Their last paper in Surface Science is Editor's Choice. Silver is a typical catalyst for epoxidation reactions, where oxygen is one of the reactants. Here, we present a thorough high pressure STM and XPS study providing unique insights on the state of silver catalysts in the presence of oxygen and air.
