United States Health Information Knowledgebase

 

The United States Health Information Knowledgebase (USHIK) is an on-line, publicly accessible registry and repository of healthcare-related metadata, specifications, and standards. USHIK is funded and directed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) with management support and engagement from numerous public and private partners.

USHIK has been updated with the Meaningful Use annual update specifications for eCQMs and Value Sets released by CMS and NLM VSAC for the 2017 reporting period.

USHIK has been updated to include the 2015 Priority List of requirements for the Children's EHR Format.

AHRQ's USHIK contractor, Data Consulting Group, attended the IHE 2015 NA Connectathon to test IHE's Structured Data Capture profile. The USHIK team was able to successfully test this integration profile as 'Form Manager'. Detailed Connectathon results are published by IHE.

The Meaningful Use portal contains specifications, artifacts, downloads, search tools, and other resources for Meaningful Use, including Clinical Quality Measures, Value Sets, and Objectives for Stage 1 and Stage 2.

USHIK's APCD portal contains APCD File Submission Specifications from 14 states. Several of these states contain multiple versions of their file specifications allowing a stakeholder to compare the changes that have occurred over time. The APCD portal allows a stakeholder to view, compare, search and download the file specifications and data elements.

All Payer Claims Database

The Draft Measures portal in USHIK contains electronic Quality Measures that are available to the public for feedback. All feedback is submitted to CMS for review.

USHIK has recently added functionality to allow measure developers to post MAT-exported draft measures in USHIK directly. USHIK users who are interested in learning more about this "Draft Measure Self-Service" are encouraged to contact the USHIK team using the Feedback / Help link at the top of each page.
