The FAA's National Wildlife Strike Database experienced an issue during a a recent Server upgrade in the Enterprise Data Center. As a result, wildlife strikes reported between the dates of March 15, 2016 and March 21, 2016 are irrecoverable and need to be re-submitted.

FAA Wildlife Strike Database

The FAA Wildlife Strike Database contains records of reported wildlife strikes since 1990. Strike reporting is voluntary. Therefore, this database only represents the information we have received from airlines, airports, pilots, and other sources.

August 12, 2015: Wildlife Strikes to Civil Aircraft in the United States, 1990 - 2014 (PDF)
This report summarizes data from the National Wildlife Strike Database for the 25-year period 1990 through 2014. This analysis documents the progress being made in reducing damaging strikes for commercial aircraft but also shows the threat from aircraft collisions with wildlife is real and increasing.

August 4, 2015: Trends in Reporting of Wildlife Strikes With Civil Aircraft and in identification of Species Struck Under a Primarily Voluntary Reporting System 1990-2013(PDF)
Shows wildlife strike reporting for both commercial and general aviation airports continues to increase. Further, strike reports show a decrease in the number of damagine strikes and in the number of damaging strikes within the airport environment.

Risk Analysis Tool

The Airport Wildlife Strike Summary and Risk Analysis Reports provide a summary of strike data for any selected Part 139 Certified airport. The reports also provide a simple wildlife species risk analysis to assist in setting risk management priorities at the selected airport.
