tabUndergraduate Pilot Training Selection 
The 169th Fighter Wing is pleased to announce a 2016 UPT Selection Board will take place 10-12 June. Packages will be accepted between 1 Feb and 1 Apr.  Approximately 10 applicants will be selected for interviews to select a primary and alternate UPT candidate. For the 2016 Board, packages will need to be submitted in an electronic format. Click here for specific application package requirements. Please direct questions to the 169 FW Recruiting Office at (803) 647-8850 or usaf.sc.169-fw.list.rso-recruiters@mail.mil.

            169th Fighter Wing Shield
The 169th Fighter Wing is the primary unit of the South Carolina Air National Guard and is located at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. The 169th Fighter Wing flies the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a single-seat multi-purpose fighter with the capability to fly at up to twice the speed of sound.

The mission of the 169th Fighter Wing is to provide world class combat capability to meet our nation's needs for contingency and general war requirements. Our primary federal mission is accomplished by employing conventional munitions in the Destruction/Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (DEAD/SEAD), while providing 24/7 homeland defense alert fighter response. Additionally, the wing provides to the Governor of South Carolina with defense assistance to the state's homeland security office and disaster preparation and response support for Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) activities.
