The Grayling Air Gunnery Range features over 147,000 acres of joint use maneuver and impact range space with multiple village and urban areas with over 200 live and dry targets.
Within this vast complex, the Grayling Air Gunnery Range is busy directing aircraft, building targets, working runway repair and most importantly, training Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC's).
One of the key components used to assist in Joint Terminal Attack Controller training is the 4M dome JTAC Simulator. Each year the Grayling Range trains more than 200 JTACs and Joint Fires Observers from the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines and coalition nations, using live and simulated training.
MetaVR, the organization that designed the simulator, has focused on the Grayling Air Gunnery Range as a test site for thier program. To fully understand the 4M dome JTAC Simulator and learn more about the program, follow this link.
