IMSO - Mission & Vision

Mission

The International Military Student Office provides direct support to the international military student (IMS) attending ALU in the areas of administration, socialization, cultural enrichment, recreation and personal and family matters through briefings, presentations, subject matter expert contacts, and needed assistance to insure success in academic programs. Execute the Field Studies Program (FSP) so international students return to their homelands with an understanding of the responsibilities of governments, militaries, and citizens to protect, preserve and respect the rights of every individual.

Vision

Build a relationship to work with US during peacekeeping and coalition environment. Assist the country with developing its defense. To provide and develop skills for operation and maintenance of equipment acquired from the US.

About

International Military Student (IMS)

The IMSO provides direct support to the international military students (IMS) attending the schools and courses within the Sustainment Center of Excellence's purview. This support is in the areas of administration, socialization, cultural enrichment, recreation and personal and family matters. Administrative and support functions include briefings, in-processing and assisting students, and ensuring that the international students are prepared for their academic programs. IMSO training functions include monitoring IMS academic progress during their time here and coordinating with the academic departments to provide assistance as needed. Other training functions include briefing cadre and staff on the security assistance program and the particulars of working with IMS, coordinating with academic sponsors, social sponsors and delineating their responsibilities, and providing professional development training and orientation opportunities for IMSO staff.
