Information

Students proudly sharing the Fortes School Ceramic ProjectThe arts are an essential part of the education of our children and youth, in and out of school. RISCA acknowledges that learning in and through the arts plays a critical role in the growth and development of our youngest citizens. Through our grants, programs, partnerships, and policy initiatives, we work to:

  • Increase access to high quality arts learning for all RI children and youth, in and out of school
  • Further develop the field of the teaching artist though professional development, and public awareness of the value of teaching artists
  • Foster the professional development of educators across the curriculum
  • Ensure that all RI students are able to demonstrate proficiency in one or more art forms at or before graduation from high school
