Senior naval officers from around the world attend the NZ Maritime Security Forum as part the 75th Anniversary of the NZ Royal Navy Commemoration. The theme for the event is New Zealand and Maritime Security, and discussions centered on common maritime core issues and challenges we face in the region, such as transnational threats, illegal and unregulated fishing, and humanitarian disaster response efforts.

VADM Aucoin took a few minutes today to say thanks to the crew of VP-47, "The Golden Swordsmen," on a job well done for their support to our Kiwi friends on the South Island during earthquake relief efforts this past week. The P3C Orion provided real time reconnaissance to the New Zealand Defense Force to quickly help in recovery efforts.
