CERDEC supports defense customers by conducting research and development across a wide spectrum of information communications technologies while providing systems engineering services throughout the commodity’s lifecycle. As the Army's main developer and integrator of communications and electronic technologies and systems, CERDEC ensures and provides the decisive edge to the most important customer, the American Soldier.

CERDEC provides the Army and Defense Department with scientific and engineering expertise across the fast-paced domain of information and communications technologies, commonly referred to as Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, or C4ISR. CERDEC focuses on eight core technical competencies to advance military C4ISR technology.

With more than 1,500 scientists and engineers and close to one-million square feet of lab facilities, CERDEC researches, develops and engineers the diverse C4ISR building-block technologies, networks and architectures that advance the Army’s mission command and intelligence capabilities.

Whether enabling situational awareness and understanding, establishing and securing communications, providing Soldiers the knowledge and clarity to strike with decisive effect, or protecting from surprise attack, the Army looks to CERDEC for C4ISR expertise and continuity across domains and platforms.
