Programs for Schools & Educators

The CERDEC Outreach Program Office provides a compliment of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programs for local schools and community organizations. STEM Superstars

Development of STEM literacy must begin at the youngest grade levels. The CERDEC Outreach Program Office tours an in-school program to interested 1st through 5th grade classrooms in northeastern Maryland. The program couples storytelling, basic STEM language, career awareness and children’s natural tendencies towards inventive play.

STEM Day

One day in-school assembly, speaker’s panel or activity to promote STEM engagement. The program is designed with the specific school’s needs in mind and customized to best serve your students.

First Robotics

The world-class CERDEC Workforce is committed to nurturing the next generation of STEM professionals. We are pleased to offer the opportunity for students to work virtually with one of our scientists or engineers in the completion of a high school capstone project.

APG Rise Program

The APG RISE Program is a partnership between CERDEC and the Communications-Electronics Command that provides a two-week, in-lab experience for rising eleventh-grade students interested in pursuing STEM fields who might otherwise lack inroads. Students are selected for the program by the educators and counselors in their schools based on aptitude and interest. Selected students are assigned to working labs where they are mentored by professional Army engineers and scientists as they complete results oriented real-world assignments. In addition, students attend a four-part leadership series designed to help them identify and develop the relevant professional skills that when coupled with technical acumen will lead them to success.
