There are over 800 volunteer fire departments across the State of Wisconsin. The men and women of these departments are dedicated to protecting the lives and safety of all Wisconsin citizens. Understanding the sacrifice these firefighters make, Secretary Dave Ross, on behalf of Governor Scott Walker, has made it a mission to personally thank them for their dedication and service. Pictured left, Secretary Ross meets with members of the Rudolph Fire Department to thank them for their service.

Governor Walker signed Senate Bill (SB) 453 into law, which streamlines the operations of the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). The majority of the changes to state law in SB 453 came directly from DSPS employees who made suggestions on ways they thought the agency could be run more efficiently.
