Check the status of your mail ballot

The link below will bring you to the Rhode Island Secretary of State's Voter Information Center. To check the status of your mail ballot:

  • Enter your information where it says "Lookup / Edit Personal Voter Information "
  • Your voter registration record will display
  • Look under "Your Upcoming Electons ". This section will list the status of your mail ballot.

Mail Ballot Status Terms on the Voter Information Center:

Local Board of Canvassers request = The date the local Board of Canvassers received your mail ballot application.

Secretary of State received request = The date your information was transmitted to the Secretary of State's Election Division, the agency responsible for mailing your mailing your ballot to you.

Ballot issued = The date the Secretary of State's Election Division mailed your ballot to you.

Board of Elections received your ballot = The date your mail was received by the Board of Elections.
