The Louisiana Workforce Commission's Baton Rouge headquarters and most of the agency's statewide network of Business and Career Solutions Centers will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, in observance of Thanksgiving and Acadian Day. The offices will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28. If you are an unemployment claimant, you are strongly encouraged to file for weekly unemployment benefits by Wednesday, Nov. 23. Because of the banking holiday and office closure, any payment for unemployment claims filed after Wednesday, Nov. 23, may not be available until Tuesday, Nov. 29. You can also call the LWC's toll-free line at 1-866-783-5567 to use self-service features. However, callers will not have the option of speaking with a customer service representative until the Claim Center reopens at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28.
