    Email Reminder

    The Board has a new online license management system and will be doing more communications through email. This will make communications more prompt and reduce operating cost. The email will include such items as renewal notices, supervisor/supervisee agreement, day to day information sharing as well as other important information. To insure that you receive these important communications, please add the board email address (info@lpc.ms.gov) to your email “white list” so they will not be put in your spam/junk folder.

    Licensee Login

    If you are a Licensed Professional Counselor, you can login and make updates to your profile information, view/update continuing education hours, renew license if all requirements are met, prepare BQS supervisor log for supervisee or have supervisee prepare and submit to you to affirm, and so much more.   • Welcome to the website of the Mississippi Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors. We hope that this site supplies you with all the information you need to become licensed or continue your licensure in the State of Mississippi.

  • The Mississippi Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors purpose is to provide for the regulation and practice of counseling as well as the use of the title "Licensed Professional Counselor" to ensure the protection of the "public heath, safety and welfare" of the citizens of the State of Mississippi.

  • Rules and Regulations Update

  • Rules and Regulations Update Presentation at the November 7, 2014 Board Meeting
    The MS LPC Rules and Regulations are under revision and the Board presented proposed edits to the MCA attendees at the November 7, 2014, Board Meeting. Comments and questions were taken and noted. A volunteer committee to review the rough draft and to report to the Board at the November 20, 2014, Board meeting was formed. The Final Rules and Regulations will be submitted to the Secretary of State Office and time for public comment will be open. Revised Rules and Regulations will go into effect on or before July 1, 2015.

    Post-Graduate Supervisory Agreement Forms
  • The Board’s Rules and Regulations require that all supervisors submit a supervisory agreement to the Board office prior to beginning any supervisory relationship.
  •  
  • Para. 4.4, A, 13: "At the beginning of a supervision relationship, supervisors shall submit to the Board a signed contract or agreement between each active supervisee and supervisor that states requirements of each party. Academic supervisors are exempt from this requirement."

    In compliance with paragraph 4.4, A, 13, and effective July 1, 2014, any hours of experience conducted under the supervision of a Board Qualified Supervisor that is submitted by an applicant for Licensed Professional Counselor must be documented with a completed, notarized, and submitted Supervision Agreement Form prior to the start of the supervised experience.

    Any hours of experience reported to have occurred on dates on or after July 1, 2014, that are not properly documented will not be accepted for application for license for Licensed Professional Counselor.

  • Online Supervision Agreement Form
    The online Supervision Agreement Form begins the process of creating a supervisee profile and using electronic signatures for both supervisee and Board Qualified Supervisor to complete the agreement. Hard copy of contracts will need to be submitted by mail to the Board office.

  • NEW License Application Available
  • A new application for licensure is available online in the "Forms" section. Please use only the new application and Forms for submission for review. Older versions of the application will not be accepted for Board review.

  • Deadline for Receipt of Application Materials
  • The Board must receive application and ALL supporting documents at least ten (10) working days prior to the regularly scheduled Board meeting.
