ABOUT
MARFORSTRAT is collocated with Headquarters, USSTRATCOM at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska and is staffed with 10 Marines and 3 civilian employees.  LtGen Robert S. Walsh assumed command as Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, U.S. Strategic Command in August 2015.  He also commands the Marine Corps Combat Development Command from his headquarters based in Quantico, Virginia.  Headquarters, MARFORSTRAT is led by the Chief of Staff, a senior Colonel, permanently assigned to Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.  Headquarters MARFORSTRAT brings to USSTRATCOM a resident knowledge and access to Marine Corps capabilities that can support all USSTRATCOM mission areas. 

Mission
The Commander, Marine Corps Forces Strategic Command (MARFORSTRAT), as the Marine Corps service component command to USSTRATCOM, represents U.S. Marine Corps capabilities and interest and advises the Commander of U.S. Strategic Command on proper employment and support of U.S. Marine Corps Forces.  Advises and assists other Marine Corps commands and supporting establishment in the development of concepts, education, training, doctrine, and capabilities in space, cyberspace, electronic warfare (EW), and combating weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) operations and planning, and advocates for capabilities in order to ensure coherent cross mission situational awareness and integration between the Marine Corps and U.S. Strategic Command.
