Division of Social Services Mission Statement:
The Navajo Division of Social Services will advocate for change, to empower and strengthen our families and communities by providing quality, holistic, culture, and value-based services.

 
 

Navajo Children and Family Services (NCFS) Mission:
We believe in the strengths and resiliency of families who are our partners and for whom we advocate to preserve their cultural identity and families. We work as a team to respectfully and honestly serve and support children and families.

Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Unit:
The ICWA Unit was established to promote the stability and security of Navajo families by providing services to preserve and reunite Navajo families who are located off the reservation with their children who are subject to removal from their parents for placement in foster care or adoptive homes.

Adoption Promotion and Support Services (APSS) - Adoption Unit Mission:
The Adoption Unit promotes the permanent placement of Native American children in Native American homes for the preservation of cultural identity.
