Who We Are

The NCI at Frederick is a community of more than 2,800 government- and contractor-employed biomedical researchers, laboratory technicians, and support staff, the majority of whom work on-site at the Frederick, Maryland campus of the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

NCI at Frederick comprises several cancer research facilities including the 68-acre campus at Fort Detrick, the Advanced Technology Research Facility, the Vaccine Pilot Project, and others.

NCI at Frederick is located approximately 40 miles northwest of the NCI main campus at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.
