The Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), a governmental defined contribution plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, is available to eligible institutions of higher learning teaching and administrative faculty in Mississippi. This alternative plan is structured to be portable and transferable to accommodate teaching and administrative faculty who move from one state to another throughout their careers.
