The Fort Rucker Chaplaincy will host a post-wide Thanksgiving service Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Headquarters Chapel, Bldg. 109 and a Thanksgiving Eve Mass Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Main Post Chapel, Bldg. 8940. The Fort Rucker Exchange is putting family first this Thanksgiving as it opens doors at 4 a.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 25
The Fort Rucker Exchange will open its doors on Black Friday to offer deals on the hottest holiday gift items. Additionally, the exchange’s entire stock of prestige handbags will be 25 percent off. The savings will continue with additional deals through the weekend as the PX opens Nov. 26 at 8 a.m. The store will return to normal operating hours Nov. 27.
Shoppers can also log on to shopmyexchange.com starting at 5 a.m. EST Thanksgiving Day to get a head start on holiday deals from the comfort of their own homes. Black Friday weekend deals will also be available at shopmyexchange.com.
People who have lost or misplaced property while on Fort Rucker can call the Directorate of Public Safety’s lost and found point of contact at 255-3239 to inquire if their property has been turned in. To claim their property, people must be able to demonstrate ownership of the property. DPS retains property found or turned in at special events held on the installation, such as Freedom Fest – the most common items turned-in are keys, cell phones and wallets.
The Fort Rucker ID Card Section will close from 2:15-4:15 p.m. for training the second Wednesday of every month.
Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (regular duty hours) will be set aside for appointments only. Walk-in customers will be seen on an emergency basis only (e.g. Lost CAC/ID card, PIN Reset, DD Form 1172, In/Out Processing, and Retirees renewing ID card). Click here for more information.
Flu shots are available for families in the preventive medicine department from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Patients should keep in mind that lunch time is the busiest time for the department. After-hours immunizations will be provided during the following dates for school-aged beneficiaries from 3:30-5 p.m. each day: today, Monday, Tuesday, and Nov. 28 and 29, and Dec. 1.
The Defense Military Pay Office briefing for Soldiers scheduled to separate due to expired term of service or involuntary separation (non-retirement) has changed from a walk-in basis to a weekly group briefing. The new ETS briefing will be held Tuesdays at 1 p.m. in Bldg. 5700, Rm. 371B. Soldiers should bring the following documents to the briefing: two copies of separation orders and amendments, DA 31 - Request and Authority for Leave (if approved) and the original or notarized copy of documents to support changes in marital status not previously reported to the DMPO.
The DMPO will continue to provide desk-side briefings for Soldiers who do not receive orders in time to attend a group briefing. Command teams with Soldiers who cannot attend a regularly scheduled briefing due to time constraints should call 255-3939, 255-9182 or 255-3115.
