Free Super Bowl Training

In preparation for the Big Game, TABC is offering free training to retailers and their staff. Super Bowl training schedule and registration.

Offices will be close at noon on November 23 and remain closed on November 24 and 25, 2016.

TABC will be closing our offices at noon on Wednesday, November 23 and remain closed on Thursday and Friday, November 24-25, 2016 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Uvalde office has moved.

Effective September 30, 2016 the Uvalde office has moved to a new location. Uvalde new location and hours.

We have changed our website address

TABC's website address, along with email addresses, have changed from "tabc.state.tx.us" to "tabc.texas.gov." Any bookmarks linked to the TABC website should be changed in order to allow users to continue to access the site securely.

TABC:Mobile smartphone app now available

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission’s new smartphone app, TABC:Mobile is now available for Apple and Android devices. The app allows users to locate TABC-licensed businesses in their area, inspect pending TABC licenses and permits, and report incidents which take place in a licensed establishment. TABC 2017-2021 Strategic Plan Now Available

The latest version of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission's Strategic Plan is now available. The plan, which covers fiscal years 2017-2021, outlines the agency's six goals which support the statewide objectives set by state leaders. Individual action items and completion dates associated with those goals offer a glimpse into the concentrated efforts of TABC to target at-risk businesses, integrate new technologies, increase efficiencies in the licensing process and meet the growing demands of the alcoholic beverage industry. Original Application Forms have been updated

Due to legislative changes and our constant goal for improvement, our original application forms have been updated. If you have any questions regarding the updated forms please contact your local TABC office or email Licensing.

TABC Clarifies License to Carry a Handgun (LTC) Verification Requirements for Businesses

Regarding the obligation of a TABC license or permit holder to verify the License to Carry a handgun (LTC) of a person in possession of a handgun on a TABC-licensed premise:

  • The Open Carry law did not change the Alcoholic Beverage Code regarding verification of handgun licenses.


  • There is nothing in the Alcoholic Beverage Code specifically requiring TABC license/permit holders to ask a person to present his/her License to Carry a handgun (LTC), nor do we encourage them to do so.

In-state manufacturing tier excise tax forms updated

All in-state manufacturing tier excise tax forms have been updated to collect compliance sales totals set forth in statute by the Texas Legislature. All in-state manufacturing tier members must utilize these new forms beginning calendar year 2016 for the monthly tax reports submitted to TABC. The new forms along with a letter explaining the changes can be found on the Excise Tax Forms page. Please contact the Excise Tax Division at 512-206-3422 or your local TABC Audit and Investigations Regional Office with any questions.

TABC earns Agency of the Year award from NLLEA

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission was named the 2015 Agency of the Year by the National Liquor Law Enforcement Association. Read more about the award.

TABC warns retailers about suspected extortion scam.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is working with the U.S. Postal Inspectors to investigate a suspected extortion scam involving TABC-licensed/permitted businesses across the state. Read the press release about the suspected extortion scam.

Renewal Forms have been updated

Due to legislative changes and our constant goal for improvement, our renewal application forms have been updated. If you do not renew online or have not received a preprinted renewal form you can find the Licensing renewal forms here.

TABC Now Offering Online Label Approval

TABC is now offering online label approvals for Texas and out-of state brewers, brewpubs, non-resident sellers, wineries and distillers. Read the press release about the new online label approval system.

New for Insurance Companies, Bond Companies and Financial Institutions

V-Box is a virtual mailbox which can be utilized by insurance companies, bond companies and financial institutions representing current license and permit holders. Learn more about V-Box.
