How do I apply for Transit Subsidy benefits via GovZone

If you need assistance applying for Transit Subsidy benefits, please reference the steps below.

1. Log into GovZone.
2. Click on MY SERVICES tab at the top of the homepage.
3. Select TRANSIT SUBSIDY PROGRAM MANAGEMENT from the drop-down menu.
4. If you are a supervisor or approver, please click on the MY BENEFITS tab. If you are not a supervisor or approver, you should automatically be taken to the MY BENEFITS PROFILE page.
5. Under SELECT THE PROGRAM TO APPLY FOR, click on the START APPLICATION button for the Transit Subsidy Program.
Please note, if you click on the START APPLICATION button but the Transit Subsidy application fails to open, this typically indicates that you are using an incompatible browser. Please note, the compatible browsers for GovZone are Internet Explorer 9 or higher and Google Chrome version 50 or higher.
6. You will receive a CONFIRM ELIGIBILITY pop-up. Read over the eligibility information and, if you are eligible, click on the YES button.
7. On the Commuter Information page of the application, complete all the required fields and click on the SAVE & CONTINUE button at the bottom of the page.
8. On the EMPLOYER INFORMATION page, most of the information should populate for you, so review this information to confirm it's accurate. You can make changes to many of the fields if necessary.
9. Once you reach the EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION section, you will select either PERMANENT or TEMPORARY as your EMPLOYMENT STATUS.
10. Click on the EMPLOYMENT TYPE drop-down and select either FULL TIME or PART TIME.
11. In the WEEK 1 table, select a COMMUTE STATUS for all seven days of the week. You can locate the definitions of each COMMUTE STATUS above the WEEK 1 table.
12. Select your START TIME and END TIME for each working day. Based on the times selected, your HOURS WORKED will calculate for you.
13. If your schedule differs from week 1 to week 2, please complete steps 11 & 12 again for the WEEK 2 table. If your schedule is the same every week, check the box to the right of WEEK 2.
14. Click on the SAVE & CONTINUE button at the bottom of the page.
15. On the TRANSIT METHODS SUMMARY page, click on the +ADD A TRANSIT METHOD hyperlink.
16. Under STEP 1, select a TRANSPORTATION METHOD and the TRANSIT PROVIDER NAME.
17. Under STEP 2, select the SERVICE, FARE TYPE and # OF FARES PURCHASED PER MONTH. You will also need to manually enter the FARE COST ($) amount.
18. Under STEP 3, select whether this transportation method is ONE WAY or ROUND TRIP.
19. Enter COMMUTE START LOCATION and COMMUTE END LOCATION. This can be the bus stop or metro stop. This could also be a physical address, if necessary.
20. Enter COMMUTE DISTANCE (ONE WAY) in miles.
21. Under STEP 4, click on the radio button to indicate whether you are eligible or not eligible for reduced fares. If you are unsure, you can contact your Transit Provider for clarification.
22. Under SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS, you have an option to add supporting documentation to the application, but this is only a requirement if you are applying for an annual pass. To add supporting documentation, click on the +ADD FILE button.
23. Click on the SAVE & CONTINUE button at the bottom of the page.
24. You will be taken back to the TRANSIT METHODS SUMMARY page. To add another transit method, please repeat steps 15-23. Once you've added your transit method(s), the TOTAL MONTHLY EXPENSE will display on the right side of the screen.
25. Click on SAVE & CONTINUE at the bottom of the page.
26. On the APPLICANT VERIFICATION TRANSIT page, read over the ETHICS STATEMENT VERIFICATION and the GO!Card TRANSIT SUBSIDY CHARGE CARDHOLDER AGREEMENT and check the boxes under each.
27. Once you've checked the three boxes to agree to the ethics statement and cardholder agreement, click on the SAVE & CONTINUE button at the bottom of the page.
28. On the REVIEW AND SUBMIT page, verify that all the information in the application is correct. You can click on the EDIT button on the right if any changes are needed. If everything is correct, click on the SAVE & CERTIFY button at the bottom of the page.
29. You will be prompted to read over one final certification. Check the I CERTIFY THAT box and click on the SUBMIT APPLICATION button.

Once you've submitted the application, you will see the REQUEST SUBMITTED page. You will also get an automated email from GovZone confirming your submission, while your supervisor will receive an automated email with information on how to approve the application.
