Welcome to USDA Forest Service National Visitor Use Monitoring
The National Visitor Use Monitoring program surveys over 100,000 visitors to National Forest System lands every five years, with 20% of the national forests conducting surveys each year. This nationwide visitor use survey provides statistically sound estimates of visitation to each national forest and to each site type. The surveys also provide information about who these visitors are demographically, why they come to the national forests, how satisfied they are with the facilities and services provided, and how much money they spend on their visit.
Before viewing NVUM Reports and Maps, you need to select the forests and round that you want to work with.
To work with a single forest, click the Single Forest tab, select a round, pick a region, and choose the forest before clicking the "Use This Forest" button.
To work with multiple forests, click the Multiple Forest tab, select a round, select your forests from any region on the left, and use the Add button to move them to the "Selected Forests" box before clicking the "Use These Forests" button.
To work with one or more entire regions, click the Region tab, select a round, select a region (hold down the Control key to select multiple regions) and click the "Use The Highlighted Region(s)" button.
To work with all regions, click the All Regions tab, select a round, and hit the "Use All Regions" button.
After selecting the round and forest(s)/region(s), you will be redirected to the Report and Map selection page.
