The U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation 2017 – Call for proposals
The U.S Embassy Port-au-Prince and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), Cultural Heritage Center, of the U.S. Department of State are pleased to announce the 2017 call for proposals for the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP).U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) supports the preservation of cultural sites, cultural objects, and forms of traditional cultural expression in more than 100 developing countries around the world. AFCP-supported projects include the restoration of ancient and historic buildings, assessment and conservation of rare manuscripts and museum collections, preservation and protection of important archaeological sites, and the documentation of vanishing traditional craft techniques and indigenous languages. Cultural heritage endures as a reminder of the contributions and historical experiences of humanity. Community Solutions Program
The Office of Public Affairs would like to invite interested Haitian citizens to submit an application for the 2017 Community Solutions Program. The Community Solutions Program is a four month professional development program for the best and brightest global community leaders working in Transparency & Accountability, Tolerance & Conflict Resolution, Environmental Issues, and Women and Gender Issues.
Selected candidates will participate in a four month U.S. fellowship with a local nonprofit organization or government agency. They will have the opportunity to experience structured virtual learning and networking via the Online Community Leadership Institute. They will also design and implement follow-on projects back here in Haiti. The program will also include a small outbound component that will allow up to five U.S. host representatives to travel overseas for approximately two weeks on projects related to the program themes.
The deadline to submit applications is Friday, November 18, 2016, at 12 p.m. EST.
