IT Policy and Advice for Idaho Agencies

Welcome to the ITA Website!

Created by statute in 2013 to respond to advances in information technology and telecommunications, the Idaho Technology Authority (ITA) operates strategically to leverage opportunities for improving the efficiency and productivity of state government.  The ITA combines the business perspective of state government and the private sector with the technical expertise of its subcommittees to “ensure a coordinated approach to the design, procurement and implementation of information technology and telecommunications systems for both state government and the public.”  (I.C. § 67-5745)

Included in its duties, the ITA reviews and evaluates IT and telecommunications systems, and prepares statewide IT and telecommunications plans.  Additionally, the ITA identifies technology opportunities and facilitates and monitors statewide programs, to ensure they are effective, beneficial, and utilized on a statewide basis.
