First and foremost, to enable you and your organization to participate in a
critical reporting function to protect our critical infrastructure against
attack.
Security personnel are in a unique position to observe terrorist incidents.
However, it has been found that such incidents often go unreported. Even when
they are reported, there is no effective way to “connect the dots”
and to put all of the related incidents that may occur in several jurisdictions
together. The SHARE project is being supported by the USDHS to demonstrate how
local law enforcement and private sector security personnel can effectively
prevent terrorism by reporting suspected terrorist incidents into a central
repository where they can be analyzed and turned into effective anti-terrorism
actions. Without your participation, this effort cannot succeed.
To access warnings and advisories specific to your industry.
The SHARE web site will provide information on particular incidents that have
occurred and advisories on special types of incidents that bear emphasized
attention. You will be on the feedback loop.
To enable you and your organization to access information related to
terrorism and homeland security.
We will keep all of the information that we possibly can on the web site itself
and provide links to other web sites to enable you to stay informed on any
terrorist activities related to your industry.
