Cool concept but doesn't display correctly on my phone (Moto X 2014). Also the "My Location" part of the app is broken. An overlay pops up over the screen and never goes away even though you can see the page underneath has loaded.

It's OK It's work when I try to search for a city. I typed in one and it did nothing.
Needs Much Work This app has lots of functions, but they do not all work. Search your location, some ZIP searches and other functions just don't s respond .

Not enough questions I was disappointed in the range of questions and the limits put on how many different options you would be willing to choose. I would like mountains and coast but could only choose one or the other. Religion wasn't touched on, average housing costs, amongst other things. Add more in-depth questions and this would be a much stronger app. A really great idea!!!
Pretty useless Not good if you are looking for the best town within say a 100 mile radius. We are retired, so a location that takes your dream job into consideration does not apply to us. This app does not take into consideration many things that are important to us such as availability of cultural events, access to learning centers and fitness facilities.
Doesn't work I am so sad that it doesn't load on my Galaxy Android because I absolutely love the Census Bureau. I don't have the heart to give this product 1 star, so 2 stars for effort. I look forward to using dwellr in the future (and updating my rating of it) once the bugs are fixed.
Funny a very easy way to get the data I need for the census This app does a great job of collecting all this information that you need right at your fingertips on my mobile phone. I don't have to worry about finding a big desktop just to get with the information I need.
Awesome This app has been getting negative reviews, but I don't see why. Great design and functionality!
Awful for real research Might be useful for young people with in-demand job skills and no geographical ties who wish to move to a new city. For anyone who is looking for a convient way to access US demographics on a smart phone, this is a complete failure. More tax money down the drain on an app that has no use for the vast majority of the American public. Useless for business or education needs.
Great app, love the different factors you can choose to see where in the US to live
Practically useless Only brings up cities nearby. Won't let you search near a city u plan to go to. Evidently contains no data for entire states (UT OR). Glitchy. Takes three tries to get the search box to work. Then doesn't know fair sized cities (st George UT). App jammed. Would not show up in list of running apps. Had to reboot phone. Uninstalling.
Locked up on step 5 of 11 Samsumg Galaxy 2 Saw some negative reviews prior to installing but thought to give the app a try anyway. Got to step 5 & everything stopped. Just wouldn't go any further. App needs some bug fixes.
Fun app! Makes me want to move somewhere fun! Wished app would rank cities picked by closest match, maybe it does and I didn't find...still fun. P.s., whats with the reviewers that think this app is supposed to replace the website?
Good Start Heard about this on NPR. Great idea, nice graphics, and simple design. It is however slow and glitchty, the file size seems quite large for how simple it is, and the load time at the startup is a bit excessive. Keep working developers. Galaxy III
Great UI, but doesn't work I've tried using, but keeps getting hung up on question 8 of 11. It's a great concept, so I'm looking forward to the update to see how they fix it.
Same results regardless of criteria, other than "region" It gives you a list based only on the geographical region you select at the beginning. We tried to trick it into giving a specific city or just a different list of cities than it did the first time by wildly changing the criteria - nope - same list every time. It only changed when we changed the region to, say, "South" from "West". And within each region the list was the same. I made my occupation "singer", ranked the importance of that as "high", and it rated Philly above NYC, Denver above Austin. So...hmm
Good start, but not all the way there In many ways, this is a great app. It will get people thinking about where they can go and what places are a better fit for them, which I think is great. People aren't trees, they can move if things aren't working out. That being said, I feel that while this makes great use of ACS data, ACS data by itself is not enough to base a decision off of. Here's some examples: It asks you about the level of education of your friends. The higher the education you put in, the more likely you're going to be recommended college towns. It also considers the number of people who use a certain method for commuting, but not the quality of that commute. When I put in "Mid sized cities in the Midwest" with the rest of my preferences unchanged, one of my top cities was Warren MI with a little transit icon next to it. The only reason that anyone there uses the public bus system is if there are no other options; that bus system is awful. From a technical standpoint, I'm running the app on a Galaxy S3 and it works great. Good start, but do your own research. These are "you should look into this place" options, not "you should move here" recommendations.
Needs work I like the idea of this app but it freezes before I can get to the ninth step. Also it might be better to be a little more general in categorizing preferred jobs.
SkiScorcher88 Cool idea, but it freezes when trying to get to question 9/10. I get stuck on "My friends are mostly...". Noble idea, but requires better programming.
Super Glitchy I've had to redownload this several times because whenever I try to use the app it can't move past the "My friends are mostly..." page. Trying this app fpr the fourth time...
Worse than poor. Freezes on question eight! Great job Census Bureau, not.
Doesn't Work Like for many others, this app freezes on question 8 for me. I've tried several reinstalls, but to no avail. I have an HTC one.
Answers a question I didn't have All I wanted was to look up data and it's asking me if my dream job is funeral attendant or librarian? Engineer is not even listed, or doctor, or a lot of great professions. Then everywhere I look up is compared to this 'dream' profile? Why? Just let me look up data please.
Go figure. This government app is bloated and barely functional. Huge download, which I assume is the entire data base it draws from. Graphics are broken all over the place, it routinely crashes on multiple devices, and even when it works as intended, the match algorithm is rudimentary at best.
It Crashed First Try When I got to the part when it asked Where my friends are mostly...it crashed.. Van Olnhausen
Freezes at Q8 on Galaxy S2 Retried a number of things but still not working. Freezes at question 8 :/ Please fix!
Must have it! I live in a rural area...I'm not expecting much for me, but I look forward to the possibilities of this app. To the guy wanting to know "WHY AN APP?" Really? Go to the website! Why are you in the Play Store if you don't want an app? LOL
Gets Stuck on Question 8 The app freezes on Question 8. Also, most of my friends are college graduates over 34, without children, but younger than 65. I don't like that my friends and I are kind of invisible in this app.
Crashing in Galaxy S4 This app keeps crashing on the Galaxy S4 especially after question number 8. It just doen't move to the next question.
Bah! Freezes on question 8. App keeps freezing on question 8. This is not a fully functional app.
Doesn't work at all... Brutally slow then freezes at question 8. USELESS!
Why an app? I find it interesting that this app has to be downloaded to your phone. Why is it not a link on the US Census Bureau website for computer users?
