120mm M120A1 Towed

Image

The M120A1 Towed System consists of the following components: M298 Cannon (tube), M191 bipod, M9A1 baseplate, and the M67 sight unit. The M120A1, when transported on the M326 Mortar Stowage Kit, is primarily towed by a High Mobility Multi-Wheeled Vehicle (HMMMV).

Both 120mm mortar system configurations use graphic scales, M16 and M19 plotting boards, and firing tables. Ballistic calculations are accomplished with the M150/M151 Mortar Fire Control System-Dismounted or M32 Lightweight Handheld Mortar Ballistic Computer. The system is compatible with the M2 aiming circle, M45 series boresight equipment, M14 aiming posts, and the M58/59 aiming post lights. The M150/M151 Mortar Fire Control System-Dismounted is currently being fielded which will enable digital coordination of multiple systems and fire support networks, significantly reducing the time required to emplace, fire and displace the weapon.
